What is Outpatient Physical Therapy?

Physical therapists improve soft tissue and joint mobility, relieve pain, educate and prevent permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Outpatient physical therapy is treatment of patients outside of a hospital setting. Treatment includes an initial evaluation, hands-on therapies, and therapeutic exercises. The use of medical modalities may also be used to reduce pain and promote healing allowing the individual to achieve their most functional level possible. Supervised Exercises - with Exercise BallDo I need a Prescription or a Referral for Physical Therapy?

For insurance coverage, a prescription from a medical doctor is necessary to properly file a claim. Physical therapy may also be provided by private pay without a physician’s referral. Please ask for information regarding private pay fees and arrangements.

What Insurance will you Accept?

What should I expect during my First Appointment at Waukesha Physical Therapy?

Your first appointment will generally last about 45 minutes to 1 hour to allow your therapist time to evaluate your problem and initiate an appropriate treatment program.

Will/Do the Therapists Communicate with my Physician?

We are in contact with your doctor at all stages throughout your rehabilitation. A note for your initial and discharge visits are sent. A progress note is sent if any physician visits are scheduled during your treatment time with us.
